This is a lap quilt.  Notice all the patches are different objects, shapes or patterns.  It works very well when traveling with children in the back seat of the car.  When they are not using the quilt to play the time tested game for amusing kids on a long trip, they can use it to cover up for a hopefully long nap.  It can be used anytime you would like the kids to play reasonably quietly.  The "eye" patches in the quilt were the brain child of my autistic granddaughter and are drawn with permanent fabric pens.
